| Scientific and Educational Observatory at Nukus State University |

The opening of the educational astronomical observatory at the Nukus State Pedagogical Institute took place on November 7, 2014. This was the result of the joint work of the Ulugh Beg Astronomical Institute of UzAS, Nukus State Pedagogical Institute. The observatory is located in Nukus on the territory of the Nukus State Pedagogical Institute and is equipped with a Meade LX90 telescope with a 20 cm aperture. A Logitech C270 Webcam is used as a CCD camera.
The Meade LX90 telescope operates in fully automatic mode. The telescope has an Audiostar remote control, light filters, a polarizing filter, an 8 * 50 finder, and several eyepieces.

The use of the new astronomical observatory at the Nukus State Pedagogical Institute will allow students of the Physics and Mathematics Department to practice, conduct laboratory work on astronomy and optics, conduct popular science lectures for schools and lyceums, and create new laboratory work using telescope observations. Students of the physics and mathematics direction will be able to directly get acquainted with astronomical equipment and telescopes, conduct observations and use the data obtained to write their final qualification papers.

In addition to scientific projects, the Ulugh Beg Astronomical Institute of UzAS also carries out general educational projects. The main task of the latter is to popularize astronomy, as well as to assist educational institutions with astronomical departments. Within the framework of these projects, it is planned to create a whole network of scientific and educational observatories on the basis of the universities of the republic. Through the joint efforts of the Ulugh Beg Astronomical Institute of UzAS and the Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic, educational observatories for Andijan State University, Samarkand State University, Tashkent Pedagogical University named after Nizami, National University of Uzbekistan, Karshi State University were put into operation.
